Give your words some emphasis:
Italics - *italics*
Bold - **bold**
Highlight - ==Highlight==
Strikethrough - ~~Strikethrough~~
Spoiler (blurring text) - !!Spoiler!!
You can also use keybinding shortcuts, just select the text (within the same line/paragraph) and pressing the shortcut, for the following emphasis:
Italics - cmd / ctrl + I
Bold - cmd / crtl + B
Highlight - cmd / crtl + H
